The Medical Mainstream Goes EF
Aug 31, 2010
Finally. The medical profession is giving attention to resistance training and protein intake to address the growing problem of loss of muscle mass, insulin sensitivity, and strength in our aging population.

I have gained about 5 pounds of muscle and lost a bit of fat. Here is my update on what I did to make these changes.
Follow Up to Overtraining Old People

Mar 11, 2010
To stimulate muscle growth, you have to have the right combination of exercise intensity and nutritional signals. This does not mean you consume carbohydrate; you consume the key amino acids within the right time frame.
Protein Synthesis, Energy Expenditure, and Inflammation
Mar 4, 2010
I have a lot of muscle, which raises my resting energy expenditure. I burn 300 to 365 more calories every day than the average person my age even when I'm doing nothing (something I do quite a lot). This difference, conservatively, translates into more than 10 pounds of fat per year.
"Hard" Gainers
